2011 Events
Here are some events that took place in Washington, D.C. last year:
Public Servant Day at the Washington Nationals

"Just a note to thank the Partnership for putting together Public Servant Day at Nationals Park. I am in charge of a small division with HSI (ICE). We had been looking for an opportunity to have an outing with our families and this event provided the perfect setting. It truly felt like recognition of not just public servants but our families as well. It was really appreciated and a big success!"

Thank you to everyone who came out to the Washington Nationals on May 1 to kick off PSRW 2011.
Special thanks to:

for sponsoring the pre-game reception,
Jeff Maurer with FunniestFed for his awesome performance, and
Battalion Chief Robert Zoldos with Fairfax County Urban Search and Rescue for accepting the Spirit Award in honor of public servants everywhere.
Public Service Town Hall
Thank you to everyone who attended the Town Hall on Tuesday, May 3. It was a packed house at the Ronald Reagan Building Rotunda, but if you didn't get the chance to make it you can see the panelists share their thoughts and insights on the different issues the government faces and how they are working together to address these tough issues.

Finalists Announced for the 2011 Samuel J. Heyman
Service to America Medals
The 2011 Samuel J. Heyman Service to America Medals finalists have been announced—34 outstanding federal workers who are making high-impact contributions to the health, safety and well-being of Americans. The Partnership honored the finalists contending for Service to America Medals in nine categories, including Federal Employee of the Year, at a Capitol Hill breakfast on Thursday, May 5. These accomplished employees perform important, behind-the-scenes work, and are being honored as part of Public Service Recognition Week, a time to pay tribute to public servants at all levels of government.
The sought-after Service to America Medals are known as the most prestigious awards bestowed on America's civil servants and couldn't come at a better time. "Amind the recent budget battles regarding the size and scope of government, the people who do out nation's work often goes unnoticed," said Max Stier, Partnership for Public Service President and CEO. "That why the Service to America Medals are so important. They tell the true stories of the remarkable workthat our federal employees do each and every day. You're seeing government at its very best."
